what is network topology
A network topology is a arrangement of a network, including its nodes and connecting line. there are two ways of define network.
- geometry topology: the physical topology
- logical topology(or signal) topology
the physical topology of a network is the actual geometric layout of workstation. there are several common physical topology are.
1.bus topology
alternative referred to a line topology. a bus topology is a network setup in which each computer and network device are connected to a single cable or backbone cable.
2.ring topology
a ring topology is a network configuration in which device connections create a circular data path. each networked device is connected to two others, like points on a circle together. devices in a ring topology are referred to as a ring topology.
in a ring network, packets of data travel from one device to the next until they reach their destination.
3.star topology
4.mesh topology
A network setup each computer and network device is interconnected with one another allowing for most transmission to be distributed, even if one of the connection go down. It is a topology commonly used for wireless networks.
5.tree topology
this is a 'hybrid' topology that combines characteristics of both the linear bus and star topology. In a tree network, groups of star-configured network are connected to a linear bus backbone cable.
so this are network topology. hope you like it.
